Illustratoren vergangener Jahrzehnte schufen geniale Titelbilder; sie entwickelten u.a. bestechende SF-Visionen von Fahrzeugen (inkl. Raumschiffen) jeglicher Art - Sie schufen zudem phantastische Impressionen von den Protagonisten der Büchern und ihren oft fremden, exotischen oder vergangenen Welten. Ich zeige einige dieser alten Titelillustrationen mit ihren zum Teil heute oft nostalgisch anmutenden Zukunftsideen und Vergangenheitsvergegenwärtigungen. Unter dem Label 'sosa-copertina' finden sich ältere Einträge zu unterschiedlichsten Publikationen. Die neuen Einträge beschränken sich auf fremdsprachige Taschenbücher.

Die Illustratoren bleiben oft namenlos, teils handelt es sich aber um durchaus geschätzte Künstler, die auch in anderen Bereichen der graphischen Medien ihre Meriten haben. Ich nenne ihre Namen, wenn sie bekannt sind.

Illustrators of past decades developed great visions of fantastic or exotic worlds of the futures and the past. I show some of these vintage cover illustrations with their imaginations of the protagonists of the books, their often nostalgic-looking future ideas and their historic worlds. Under the label 'sosa-copertina' there are older entries for a wide variety of publications. The new entries are limited to foreign-language paperbacks..

The illustrators often remain nameless, but some of them are well-respected artists, who also have their merits in other areas of graphic media. I give their names if they are known.

Alle Abbildungen verstehen sich als Bildzitate im Rahmen einer kulturgeschichtlichen Dokumentation. Sie beruhen auf Materialien aus dem Archiv der CollectionTrivialitas bzw. auf frei zugänglichen Internetangeboten.
