Senarens, Luis. (1902). Jack Wright’s air and water cutter, or, Wonderful adventures on the wing and afloat. New York: Frank Tousey. (Pluck and Luck)
An example of mechanical fiction at its finest: a flying boat enables our hero to save a damsel in distress. Luis Senarens, the “No Name” responsible for penning this adventure, is better known as the author of the Frank Reade series, which also featured slightly too good to be true mechanical inventions, paving the way for science fiction.
